Ascend is the fifth regular-production line in the Perez-Carrillo Series, and the first major release to carry the Casa Carrillo name after the company's rebrand from E.P. Carrillo. Blended by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo — one of the few true master blenders still working — and rolled at the Casa Carrillo factory in Santiago.
An Ecuador Habano wrapper leads, layered over a Nicaraguan binder from Estelí and Nicaraguan filler chosen for richness and structure. The whole blend was built around progression: cedar, earth, baking spice, roasted coffee and a subtle pepper, with hints of cocoa and a natural sweetness that keep shifting from the first third to the last. The line's three sizes — Saddle, Ridge and Peak — are named for stages of a climb.
